Too Much To Handle
Hinata was dreaming about Naruto one night. When she woke up she asked herself why people fall in love. She thought about different things, until she decided that she should just give up all together. What she didn’t know was that 4 boys liked her anyways. And even after she figures it out, it becomes too much to handle. Who will she choose?

Chapter 1 - Why Do People Fall In Love?

Hinata was running as fast as she could. She couldn’t get away from him. He followed her, and she knew she was going to die if he caught her. ‘This is crazy,’ she thought to herself, ‘I know that I am dreaming, and yet I am still scared. I cannot wake up, but I cannot feel the ground beneath my feet.’ It was at that moment that she tripped over a log, and she started to fall to her simple death. The only reason she was not dead, was because two almost bronze looking arms reached out and caught her. She knew immediately who it was. She looked up and looked into those deep blue eyes. Naruto smiled at her, and he picked her up.

“It’ll be alright Hinata-Chan,” he whispered in her ear, “I’ll take care of you, I promise.”

“Why are you helping me Naruto-San?” Hinata replied.

“Hinata, you do know that it would be impossible to stay away from your perfect face every day right? I couldn’t let you die when I love you so much.”

She woke up immediately after that. ‘Stupid dreams, always getting my hopes up. I wish they would just stop. He will never like me. I should fall in love with someone else, someone who likes me back. But I really don’t think anyone could like me. Naruto likes Sakura, but she doesn’t like him back. Sakura likes Sasuke, but he doesn’t like her back. Neji liked Sakura at one point, but then he stopped liking her when she liked him. Ino liked Neji, but only because he did not like her. I will never understand her. Shikamaru liked Ino, but she hated him, so he gave up. It was too troublesome for him. My team doesn’t seem to have any luck with love. I don’t think Shino has ever fallen in love, and he seems so much happier than the rest of us. Kiba has never told me whom he liked, but he must like someone because he blushes a lot. He must think about that person often. When I mentioned it to Shino, he just smiled and walked off.’ Hinata sighed. ‘Why do people fall in love? It’s a mystery to me.’

Hinata looked at the alarm clock and sighed. She was up earlier than normal because of her dream. She sat up, thankful that the sun was not up yet to hurt her eyes. She got out of bed, and she walked over to her closet. She put on her clothes and shoes. She walked out of her room, and she walked down the hall. She walked into the kitchen and she sat down lazily in a chair. She picked up a piece of paper and a pencil and started to sketch. She was not particularly fond of drawing, but it kept her mind completely clear. Neji had told her she should become an artist, but she just shrugged it off. She hated drawing, and she hated her drawings even more. She loved the feel of it though. The three different ways she could hold a pencil. The writing position kept her mind on the drawing, the cupped-hand position kept her mind half blank, and her favorite was the underhand position. She didn’t think of anything when she drew like that. It was like she was just existing, but everything around her was just moving on without her. She preferred it this way. Time flew by as she drew with her hand in the underhand position.

Neji eventually walked in and saw her. He walked quietly over to sit beside her. He knew she wouldn’t notice him right now. He looked at the drawings expecting to see Naruto. She had claimed that she couldn’t remember what she was drawing, but he figured she was just obsessed. He was shocked to see 6 different drawings. The first one was of a broken heart with a knife stabbed through the right side. Blood was dripping down from the stab wound to a little puddle below the heart. The second one was of a hand holding onto a knife with blood dripping down, and another hand showing the wrist with cut marks and more blood. The third one was of a girl who seemed to be crying, but she colored the tears red, so it must have been blood too. The fourth one was of a gray and red pond, and a boy who was sitting down beside the pond holding his knees up to his chest. He was biting his knees as blood ran down, and he was crying gray tears. The pond must have been his blood and tears. The fifth one was of a heart that was decorated with many different colors but crossed out with two knives that had those colors flowing down from the tip. The sixth one was a red heart with black flames surrounding it, prepared to burn it to a crisp. ‘Well she is in a good mood today,’ He thought to himself sarcastically.

Neji looked over his shoulder towards the stove and smiled. He loved to make breakfast for her, but she always told him that she didn’t want to make him do it. The truth was though, that he loved doing anything for her. He loved her. He got up quickly and opened the fridge. He picked out two eggs and some bacon. He cooked it patiently and skillfully. When he was finished he put it on a plate and put it beside Hinata. He then walked out of the room, and he turned back around. He walked slowly into the kitchen as if he were tired. He tapped Hinata on the shoulder, and she jumped up and looked at him. He smiled cheerfully. She smiled back.

“Well Hinata, I hope you weren’t up all night drawing.”
“Well no I wasn’t. I had gotten up a few hours earlier than usual and…”
“A few hours? Hmm.”
“What is it Neji-Nii San?”
“Nothing. Hey don’t forget to eat your breakfast, I already ate mine.”
“Oh. Well I’m not hungry. Will you please give it to Hanabi? Tell whoever made this thanks though.”

She cheerfully grabbed her books and left. Neji only shook his head smiling. ‘Why do people fall in love?’ He asked himself. He sighed and grabbed his books. He took a notebook and left Hanabi a note beside the plate. She would understand, because Neji had done this before. He then started to walk over to TenTen’s house. She seemed to like him, but Neji had never thought of her like that. He shook his head at the very thought. ‘I guess it will never be clear.’

Hinata walked at a very slow speed toward Kiba’s house. She wasn’t quite ready for school today. School was unusual for a shinobi of her age. Her team usually just went to go meet with Kurenai Sensei, but Tsunade Sama must have thought it wasn’t enough. The new rules were that Monday through Wednesday were school days for shinobi her age. Thursday through Friday were training days. Saturday was Challenge day, it was a day were all shinobi of a certain age gathered, and two or three battles were fought each day. They could rest on Sunday, as long as they did their exercises. It was quite obvious who didn’t do theirs on Monday. She arrived at Kiba’s house where he was waiting for her on a bench. He got up and quickly ran toward her with Akamaru close behind.

“Hey Hinata!” Kiba said happily.
“Hello,” she replied with a bright smile.
“Ready for school?”
“Not really.”
“Me neither.”
“Is Akamaru?”
“Mmhmm,” Akamaru responded cheerfully.
“I figured as much,” Hinata replied with a giggle.

Kiba walked silently with Hinata toward the school where they spent the majority of their childhood. He hated the place, but yet it would forever be a part of him. He walked with Hinata’s oddly slow speed with ease. He wasn’t quite sure if they were working with their teams today, and he didn’t want Hinata to be paired with Naruto. She wouldn’t do very well, because her concentration would be off. He didn’t want to be with her, because his concentration would be off. ‘It’s not like Naruto will ever notice her,’ he thought to himself, ‘of course she will never notice me.’ Kiba sighed. Those words cut him deeper than any kunai could. He forced himself to say them, think them, and breathe them though. He could never forget it. He repeated it in his mind once more, ‘She will never notice me.’ He sighed again, and she looked over at him curiously. ‘I hope school isn’t depressing him this badly,’ she thought to herself. She would never know what Kiba thought of her. Or would she? ‘I hate love; I don’t even know why people fall in love,’ Kiba thought to himself.

Kiba held open the door for Hinata, and he waited for her to enter. Hinata walked in slowly regretting every step she took. Kiba followed closely behind just as regretful. They both sat down as the other chattering shinobi tried to make conversations. Kiba had picked up on a conversation with Chouji and Shikamaru, but Hinata didn’t really say much. She didn’t feel herself today, and she wasn’t quite sure why. She knew she was acting as herself though. ‘How morbid am I? I am so anti-social to the point where people don’t expect me to respond much, so they talk to me to be nice. If I were to respond they would say anything to get out of talking to me. They must think I am physco. I can’t argue though.’ Hinata slouched down in her chair staring at her desk. She hated being anti-social in a way. She felt like if she were to look up, people would think she was staring at them. She was afraid they would hate her. She looked up under her eyelashes to see if Naruto was here yet. He wasn’t. ‘It figures he would be late or skip out on the first day,’ Hinata thought to herself. She sighed and looked back down at her desk as she heard the bell ring. She smiled because this gave her an excuse to look up. She looked at the teacher, but she never really listened. She had made great grades as a child for just staring at the teacher though, because she put herself into a non-thinking mode. Her brain must have caught every word the teacher said, because she was very smart. She remembered things she didn’t even know they had learned at the academy only two years ago.

After about 30 minutes of class started Naruto barged in with a simple grin that Hinata thought could light up a room. Naruto only took one glance at Iruka Sensei as he went to sit down. Naruto had been late so many times before that Iruka had expected it. Iruka continued with the lesson as Naruto sat down beside Hinata. Naruto doodled on a piece of paper rather than listen. Iruka couldn’t expect him to listen in the mornings. Naruto took a sideways glance at Hinata. ‘She is pretty today. Although she seems kind of quieter than usual, if that is possible. I don’t know. She just seems different. Maybe she doesn’t want to be here either. I hope it’s nothing too serious though. I understand that she likes me, but I like Sakura. I have to, so that Sasuke won’t make fun of me any more than he already does. I do like Hinata, but I will never admit it out loud. Why the hell do people fall in love?’

“Naruto? What is the answer?” Iruka asked cautiously.
“Depends,” Naruto answered.
“On?”
“The question…”

The class laughed at Naruto like they had done a million times before. It was almost too much to handle, the nostalgia that flowed through Naruto. He really didn’t want to be the class clown again. Iruka sighed and glared at him. Naruto only stared back innocently. Sasuke was sitting behind Naruto. He hadn’t expected the dope to sit there in the first place. He had just wanted to sit close as possible without suspicion to Hinata. He knew she like Naruto, and that had caused a lot of hate towards Naruto. He didn’t think Naruto liked her back though, the way he always went on about Sakura. Sakura was way too pathetic, egotistical, and big foreheaded for him. He sighed as the thought occurred to him that Hinata could never like someone like him. ‘ Naruto is so different than me in so many ways. He is always happy and stupid. If she likes him than I don’t have a chance. Why do people fall in love? It has betrayed me way too many times.’
Okay Someoone asked me to continue this and to do that i kinda need to put it up first XD
